Grand Puba new new

One of this generations “Silent Kings” of hip hop production is this man, Large Professor. He’s back joining forces with the legendary Grand Puba for this new single off the upcoming LP, “Retroactive.” One only wishes the track was longer but you can still hear the mastery is still there behind the boards. Grand Puba’s fourth solo project, Retrospective releases today June 23rd, 2009.

RIP Michael Jackson

he internet has been abuzz with the unfortunate passing of Michael Jackson. One of our generations greatest performers and fully worthy of his title as the “King of Pop”, his legacy will be remembered and carried on for years to come. As Benny Gold put it in a talk I had with him this morning, Michael Jackson is undoubtedly our generation’s Elvis Presley. While he hasn’t been in the limelight or making music as of late (but was set to embark on a tour), his work speaks volumes about his impact on the world as we know it. RIP MJ.

Nike Air Trainer SC

Nike looks back into its archives to revive the classic Air Trainer SC, superstar football/baseball player Bo Jackson’s signature kicks from the 90’s. The sneaker will see a return in August, with a batch of original colorways set to re-release, including this latest version featuring a mix of white/grey uppers with blue and orange accents.

HTC introduces Third Android

Smartphone makers HTC introduce their third Android-based phone, entitled the HTC Hero. The touchscreen-infused device continues the momentum of Google’s Android operating system with a few added features, including: a 3.2-inch display, GPS, digital compass, 5-megapixel auto focus camera and expandable MicroSD memory. The HTC Hero will also have an anti-fingerprint coating on the screen for smudge resistance and a Teflon coating on the exterior. Aside from those small details, the Hero will also become the first Android phone to support Adobe Flash, integrating the upcoming Flash Player 10. Other features include Twitter feeds, weather data, email/calendar widgets and a universal search functionality that looks through emails, contact list and other information.

The HTC Hero looks to make itself available in Europe this July and Asia later in the Summer. North American will see a release in the latter part of 2009, although price points have not be confirmed.

Alife Rivington x Nike Sports

Kix-Files pulls the covers off an impending colalboration Dunk High from Nike Sportswear. Featuring the work of a familiar entity in Alife Rivington Club, the Dunk features a black suede upper with a prominent Sticky Rubber 0.44 outsole. The shoe also features a Schoeller technical upper alongside Cordura and Dynafil TS 70. The Dynafil TS 70 features an “ultra-strong polyamide backing fabric and resistant to friction, water, dirt and oil repellent.” The heel also features an A.R.C. stamp. Available starting next month.
