Tie Dye Mid SB Dunks

Posted in Hot Kicks on July 23, 2008 by gumsole

Think a less flattering release reminiscent of HUF’s SB Dunk High release as the tie-dye theme makes a comeback this year with Nike SB. Unlike the HUF predecessor, this Dunk Mid features a larger range of colors seen in the tie-dye action, however the majority of the bold pattern is reserved for the heel and laces as the rest of the shoe is relatively tame. Although the sneaker is available at LTD, Japanese SB accounts have had some miscommunication issues regarding release dates (case in point Shoe Goo Dunk Highs). With this Mid not seen in this month’s Nike SB 2008 July line-up, this may not hit retailers for a few weeks/months.

WOOOOOOOOOOOW, the Panda drops with Panda hair and they come in a cage instead of a box. The problem is the U.S. will not be getting these kicks sorry guys. Japan just released these over the weekend and they will be hard to get. But you can make your own using some dog hair sheddings.

Just Do it Mixtape

Even the casual rap fan knows that Hip Hop and Nike go way back from b-boys and rope chains and Chuck D wearing Jordans in the “Fight the Power” video to De La Soul designing their own SB Dunks. Over the years clothing styles, fickle fans taste in MCs and beats have switched on what seems to be a monthly basis but, one constant seems to be the culture’s love for Nike sneakers. Mick Boogie brings his love of the Mercedes of kicks to the new millennium by teaming up with 6th Sense for a new Mixtape dedicated entirely to the topic of Nike sneakers. Just Do It: A Mixtape Ode to Nike was completed in just two days after an inspiring trip to the Nike’s headquarters in Portland.

The Rogue Status x DTA Scion xB won’t necessarily be the fastest out the gate, but both parties have done a dope job with keep things clean and simple. Gumball 3000 for 2008 kicks off in August.

Richard James x Condor cycles

For Saville Row tailor Richard James, his penchant for quality and design is applied in a different manner here as together with Condor Cycles, the duo create this full carbon fiber bike. Based on Condor Cycles’ pre-existent road bike frame, slight tweaks are in-line including a higher bottom bracket to compliment the bike’s fixed gear nature. Technicalities aside, the bike is a visual marvel with golden highlights throughout, hand-painted touches and Condor logo shaped bottle holder.
